Sometimes Smaller is Better

It's easy to get caught up in the "bigger is better" mentality, especially with cameras. Come on, who doesn't want to shoot with a nice big Canon 1DS Mark II? The problem with a big camera is, it attracts big attention. I remember one time I was shooting at the Minneapolis Zoo with two other photographer friends, and we were hauling three large cameras with very large lenses. We couldn't go more than 2 minutes without a comment from onlookers. In that instance it wasn't much of a problem, but for work where you want to remain a little more discreet, a smaller point and shoot can be just the ticket.
